Sparkle & Shine

Metallic's are the perfect update to your wardrobe this season adding shimmer and shine to just about every item you can find. You can use metallic items to dress your outfit up or down.
The runways are showing metallic's dressed from head-to-toe but I would advice mixing it up a bit with a neutral colour to keep from looking OTT (over the top) :)

Dressed in a sequence top and jeans will make you feel sexy and stand out but if you are a bit nervous toward the trend try it first with accessories, such as a pair of earrings or a new hand bag first;  as accessories are easier to mix into what you already own in your wardrobe.

I hope you have fun shopping this season for that shimmery piece to show off in, & never be scared to wear something new & different! Happy shopping! Love Little Ho Peep x

Black & White

I am definitely the person you will never find wearing black, nor black and white. I have always believed the opposite to Coco Chanel in that to stand out you shouldn't be the one wearing black, as I feel it is a colour that drowns out your beauty and blends you into the background.

But... if you are someone who loves your black and white, make sure you wear it as a dramatic print. And don't be scared to mix one print on top of another print to make an amazing impression!

Happy shopping!

Wardrobe Wild

Animal seems to be a trend that never actually goes away. It just seems to peak at certain times, now is once again that time.

I need to admit that I have never been one to wear it, I always had an image in my head of a stereotypical bottle blonde with red painted nails wearing animal. But one day I tried a cardigan on & absolutely loved it... my boyfriend however is still not convinced :)

This time however, we are not only being shown the animal print, but also a wilder side to fashion, that is; the crocodile & the snake:

I am most definitely going to get my fangs on a few of these items to guard my wardrobe ;)

Happy Shopping.

Marni for H&M

Marni will now be the next designer to collaborate with H&M. The founder of the Italian brand is Consuelo Castiglioni. She has designed a Spring collection for H&M which will be found in 260 of their stores, and as always available online too which launches March 8th. You can see her range  Here

Taken from www.vogue.co.uk:

"I wanted to create a true Marni wardrobe by revisiting all our favourite pieces in signature fabrics and prints," Castiglioni said. "As always, I love juxtaposing prints and colours, mixing modern tribal with Bauhaus graphic and adding sporty utilitarian elements."

The range will include full pleated skirts, dresses, cropped trousers and jacquard knits, in fabrics range from silk to crisp cotton.

"We all love the collection here at H&M and we believe that our customers will too," H&M's Margareta van den Bosch said. "Marni has such a modern touch with everything they do, mixing prints and accessories in a playful but chic way. It's fantastic to see how Consuelo Castiglioni coordinates her designs, matching new combinations of print and colour, with such incredible craftsmanship behind every piece. The collection will arrive in stores at just the perfect time, as a lovely statement for spring."

Another great H&M Collaboration :)

The Prettiness of Pastels

Just in case our wardrobes begin looking like fruit bowls with all the bright colour we are so in love with, the runways have began to introduce pastels.

But when we talk of pastels think Zoo Biscuits rather than marshmallows, as the pastels have a rather brighter tone than the ballerina pastels a 5 year old might wear.

I am absolutely in love with these pastels as I find them a really girly and feminine colour palette to wear. 'Pretty in pink', or blue, or yellow, or orange, or any other pastel colour.

Definitely a colour palette I can wear while I sip on my tea in & nibble on a macaroon :)...

Happy shopping. Love LHP xoxo

Bright is Beautiful

Absolutely loving bright colours this Summer. Be sure to buy yourself bright colours to update your wardrobe. Don't be scared to grab the brightest items in the store, play with them in the change room pairing them with each other to come up with some head turning outfits. Nothing cheers me up more this summer than my green blazer, or my red skinnies.

Try avoid buying the usual nudes, browns, blacks and whites this Summer. Go bold. You can always pair a bright piece back to what you already have at home to give yourself an immediate update, but as you get braver be sure to wear colour on colour.

Would love to see some beautiful people wearing colour & post on the blog, so if you keen to send me some pics you can email me here or send them to me on twitter here.

Happy shopping! Love LHP xoxo

Rock Me again

teaser mailer

How about this for some creative people out there. An event is happening on the 25th November (Joburg) and 30 November (Cape Town) where the public will donate old items of clothing to be reworked by SA fashion designers. The event was started by Capsule Projects.

How you can contribute: There are recycling bins at the Vida in Kloof, Green Point & Wembly Square. For every garment that you donate, a tree will be planted. The items not reworked will be donated to Give Responsibly, the social development campaign run by the Central City Improvement District.

What an awesome initiative, I am definitely going to get involved and I hope you all will too.
